In early August of 2004 Hurricane Charlie [link] roared by the West coast of Jamaica, where I was living at the time. I went out there with my new camera and tripod and clicked off a bunch. But it was pretty scary and about a minute later a tornado came down from that cloud, and I went running in to download
Hey! I remember when that same hurricane went up to the Cape! It was funny to us because we knew someone named Charlie who'd just been upset a week prior because he was sailing and the wind was so strong, it ripped the mast out of his hull, snapping off the bow of his boat! My brother's and I were pretty young at the time.
Great capture Michael! I have wanted to go out to the ocean to get shots like this when a hurricane is nearby, but I am always worried I might not get back home before the winds get too high, and I don't think my kids would like me doing that either!
